Millia-MipTV, Cannes, April 2007

For the second year, we spent a week in Cannes with colleagues from HP and Voxsurf to explore services combining 3G video and broacast TV such as TV participation. Compared with last year, the whole industry is talking about "new media" and 360 degree content distribution combining TV, Web and mobile phones to serve communities. The business models are influenced by changing on-demand and advertising sponsoring. HP OpenCall was presenting mobile video-blogging such as 3Gvidcast and participation TV such as BBC's match of the day Your Shout! services. Other cool demos by voxsurf here. A lot of the talk was on the experiences with DVB-H so far and the web-on-line communities such as Second Life.
